Insolvency & Restructuring
The Insolvency & Restructuring practice consists of a close-knit team of 4 lawyers: the two partners, Marc Udink and Bas Ebels, Laurien Martens, senior associate lawyer, and Miriam Nijhuis, trainee lawyer. The firm offers a broad corporate law practice, including insolvency law, financing & securities, risk management, and restructuring, focusing on both healthy companies and businesses in financial distress. With their knowledge of the landscape -from executives and supervisors to shareholders and banks- they assist enterprises and entrepreneurs with complex issues. Furthermore, the firm boasts three highly experienced trustees in Marc, Bas, and Laurien. They are frequently involved in large and complex bankruptcies, providing them with a unique perspective on the dynamics of various processes. They use that experience to advise their clients.
Position
In light of market developments and the growth of the firm, there are exciting opportunities in the Insolvency & Restructuring practice for an Associate Lawyer. You will have the chance to help build the practice, strengthen your own network, and play an active role in mentoring trainee lawyers. At UdinkSchepel, you will engage in a diverse practice:
- You will (eventually) act as a trustee and/or support other trustees in the settlement of bankruptcies.
- You will conduct proceedings regarding issues such as directors’ liability and fraudulent conveyance matters.
- You will advise a wide range of stakeholders on restructurings, bankruptcies of suppliers or clients, and companies during periods of growth or decline.
Profile & Experience
- You are a lawyer with 4 to 7 years of experience (or interest) in insolvency law and/or broader corporate law.
- Your social personality makes you a pleasant colleague to work intensively with.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, thoroughness, curiosity, and good listening skills are characteristics that define your working style.
- You have a commercial mindset and can translate complex issues into pragmatic advice and solutions.
